Skaters begin at Learn to Skate
Skills are developed through fun and games. Skaters progress through levels by mastering the curriculum skills at each level. Snowplow Sam 1 and 2 are where our youngest skaters begin, skaters 6+ begin in Basic 1 or Hockey 1. There are 6 basic skill levels and 4 hockey levels.
After passing Basic 6, skaters move into Junior Advanced where they continue Learn to Skate levels PreFreeskate-Freeskate 6. These levels are focused on figure skating skills and foundations for jumping and spinning.
Skaters must pass the first U.S Figure Skating Skating Skills test to become a full club member and an official advanced skaters. Here, skaters work independently and receive private lessons or small group instruction. Many skaters compete and continue taking USFS tests in various disciplines.
