Welcome to the Bemidji Figure Skating Club!

Bemidji Figure Skating Club is a (non-profit 501c3 that accepts donations) organization where all skaters, recreational to competitive, are encouraged to meet their individual skating goals.

BFSC promotes sportsmanship and creates opportunities to develop skaters to their fullest potential in a positive and supportive environment.

Spring Awards Banquet

Please join us for the BFSC Spring Awards Banquet.  It is a fun filled evening for all full club members and their families.  

Friday, June 3, 2016 at Northern Town Hall
6 pm – social time
6:30 pm - dinner
Awards to follow

Dinner will be catered by Fozzie’s smokin’ BBQ and will include a pulled pork sandwich, mac-n-cheese, chips and baked beans.  We will also have beverages and cupcakes.  

Cost of dinner will be $12/person and needs to be prepaid to an officer or leave it in the payment box in the off-ice room.  Please leave a payment when you are at the rink.  Make checks payable to BFSC.

Off Ice Class at Knockout Fitness
Monday's 11:00 AM - 12:00PM
Registration closes June 1, 2016.  
 
A Little of This, A Little of That w/Laura
Monday's 12:45PM - 1:30 PM
 
 Edges with Desiree
Tuesday's 4:30PM - 5:00PM
This class will focus on the basics of edge control by performing exercises which cover the ice in various patterns. The goal is to gain a deeper control over the edge and increase turn repertoire, all while maintaining proper posture and alignment. Open to skaters Basic 8 and above. (Cap at 9)
 
Dance with Sarah
Tuesday's 5:00PM - 5:30PM
The focus of this dance class will be for skaters to learn proper technique of the basic dance steps included in the Preliminary and Pre-Bronze dance levels.  The curriculum will also include putting these steps together and learning the Preliminary and Pre-Bronze dances, time permitting.  The class is open to skaters that have passed Basic 8 or above.  
 
Edges with Desiree
Wednesday's 9:30AM - 10:00AM

Off Ice with Alyssa
Wednesday's 10:30 AM - 11:30AM
Alyssa’s off ice class will be a variety of different things. Cardio, stretching, core, strength, upper body, lower body, different jump exercises. Each day will be different and be catered to the need of the skaters.
 
Stroking class with Londa
Thursday's 1:30PM - 2:00PM
Parachutes, games, music and group activities are just a few of the ways that we will be practicing our stroking to become stronger, faster skaters this summer.  Stroking is a must have class for skaters that are planning to be competitive or simply want to become more powerful in all skating disciplines. Skaters who have passed badge 6 and up can join.  
 
Off Ice with Desiree
Thursday's 2:30PM - 3:15PM
Off ice class: Increase your strength, stamina and flexibility through a variety of exercises and drills to improve your skating skills. Will focus on a variety of things and each class will be different. Open to all skaters.
 
Off Ice with Monica
Thursday's 3:15PM - 4:00PM
Held at Neilson Reise Arena & Outdoor Rink Area. We will work on strengthening our bodies with a cardio and various kinesthetic exercises, of which may include balance, core and legs, and games. The off-ice room equipment may be used for the days we are unable to be outside.
There is a possibility of running to Diamond Point Park on a few days should the weather allow. Younger students are welcome to ride their bikes or scooters. Dates to be determined. Those dates we will start earlier to allow for rest time at the park or meet at the park to do a one-way trip. A parent meeting will be available to discuss options for this topic. Price will stay the same even though the class would be longer.  A tentative calendar of activities will be provided at the first class. Please bring a water bottle, towel/yoga mat, and appropriate foot-ware. Parents are welcome too!

2016 Summer Session Learn-to-Skate classes & Hockey Skills classes will begin June 14, 2016 and run through July 28, 2016.

Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays.

(No Classes July 5, 2016)

Online registration is opening soon!  If registering at the rink please arrive early!
